Meaning: DEvi Tulasi! The time is ripe for protecting me. Brahma, Indra, and others owe their status to their devotion to you, to their worship of the Lord with TuLasi leaves. Intrinsically soft, gently and tender by nature, you do, and can do, only good to men. Lord VishNu prefers you to the lotus and other flowers. Only water sanctified by the presence of your leaves is fit for worshipping the Lord. In the dramatic incident where SrI KrishNa was weighed in a balance against gold and gems to be offered to sages, only a tender TuLasi leaf could counter balance the weight of the transcendent Lord. The Lord owes His appellation VanamAli - one who wears the sylvan garland - to His extreme fondness for garlands of flowers intertwined with TuLasi leaves. You are indeed peerless.c
