Her musical journey commenced in 1996, with rigorous training under renowned gurus at Karnataka University of Music and Government Technical Examinations of Music. This strong foundation, coupled with a B.A. from Annamalai University, has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of music theory and performance.

Since 1996, Maathangi has dedicated herself to sharing her knowledge and expertise as a music teacher. Her experience spans various institutions, including Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and Angappa CBSE School, where she has successfully guided numerous students. As a versatile performer, Maathangi's involvement with All India Radio and stage performances has enriched her teaching methodology.
