Vidushi. Dhathri. H. Kumar hails from the culturally rich Hassan in Karnataka. She started her musical journey at the age of 5 years, training Under Vidushi Venkatachalaiah at Hassan and Musician-Teacher Gaana Kala Shri.Dr SukanyaPrabhakar at Mysore. Dhathri is a graded artist of All India Radio, and is known for her versatile style and energetic performance. She has given many melodious and successful performances on many of the prescription platforms. As a dedicated music teacher, Dhathri understands her student’s strengths, weaknesses and trains them from basic to performance level. She trains students in the vocal technique of modulating the tone as well as range of their voice. Her strength is training students to the strict adherence to pataanthara and uncompromising attitude towards Bhava. She has an unique and very pleasing style in rendering Alapana, excellence in Nerval and soothing swarnaprashana which is admired and learnt by her students and followers.
